Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should better be able to:

• Optimize imaging methods to reduce the number of false-positive mammography interpretations.

• Describe recent advances and techniques in breast imaging.

• Integrate information presented in this course into efforts to improve the imaging skills of the participants. 


Target Audience

This course is intended for Practicing Radiologists and Radiologic Nurses, Physician Assistants, Technologists, Scientists, Residents, Fellows and others who are interested in current techniques and applications for breast imaging.

Dr. Ikeda is a tenured Professor of Radiology at Stanford and was Breast Imaging Section Chief from 1992-2016. She has published over 110 scientific articles, led (2004) or was vice-chair (2013) of the ACR BI-RADS-MRI Committee, and authored “Breast Imaging: The Requisites 3rd Edition” (2016). She is a recognized breast imaging/biopsy speaker/teacher, with over 300 presentations in the USA and around the world. Prior research focused on FFDM/DBT, needle biopsy, MRI/MRI biopsy, compliance/outcomes, density legislation. The new research involves mammographic positioning, DWI, breast cancer/stroma genetics, MRI outcomes, DBT interval cancers.
